Once you sign up, your passing up your first 2 sales to the person that signed you up. Then you do the same thing to the next person in line and so on. They could be offering a nutritional drink, or an ebook, or it could be anything. Chances are these are bogus ebooks people can get for free anywhere or thet are ebooks with information that pertains to the founder of the mlm company so they can make even more money.

These so called places that sell ebooks on making money are all scams. They will soak your money up and now that your on their email list you will constantly receive spam in your email letting you know more about their products. Anytime you have to put your email in a website this should let you know it's no good. What they are doing is building a list so they can continue to send you home business promotions that they get a piece of. There is no such thing as a home business that makes you money when it comes to MLM.
You Need a Product
Though I am not a big fan of affiliates there are quite a few good ones that will make you money. The whole idea behind this article is that you need a product to sell. I don't care what it is, but make a product people can hold in their hands. I talked to someone local who sells on ebay, he told me that by getting out of network marketing was the best thing he ever did. He lost thousands of dollars on mlm scams over the years. At lease he has a product that he's making money on, and he's not screwing anyone over.
